Raising Awareness · Reducing Stigma · Providing Support
Hope for Healing is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization providing support for individuals and families affected by drug addiction.
Our purpose is to provide support to those who suffer from addiction and their families, and to support to those individuals and organizations that provide care and treatment.
Hope for Healing was awarded a grant from the DuPage County Board and the HOPE Taskforce to provide harm reduction services in DuPage County from July 2021 to July 2022!
Our harm reduction program recently highlighted in a Daily Herald article: www.dailyherald.com/news/20211230/opioid-task-force-to-get-200k-from-dupage-county-where-such-overdoses-are-up-17
Our goal is to engage the community in a dialogue about drug use, addiction and the potential stigma that it carries. We want to foster a culture of compassion and understanding of those who are struggling. We are kicking off this this effort by partnering with local middle schools, like Hinsdale Middle School, to educate the youth and their parents.
Our future plan is to partner with continuing education programs for educators and local law enforcement to help de-stigmatize and change our mindset within the field.
Our first effort is to fund a DuPage County mobile unit one day a week managed through Live4Lali. This unit will focus on harm reduction which is a model to maintain human dignity, while reducing physical, mental and emotional harm in the most practical ways by meeting those who are struggling where they are.
